Kids have notoriously strange taste. Some kids, for instance, enjoy peanut butter and pickle sandwiches. Barney is a perennial favorite. And few things will gets kids as excited as a chance to play with a cardboard box. Now you can add another choice to the list: Kevin James.

Yes, according to PEOPLE, the rotund comedian will be hosting Nickelodeon's 23rd Annual Kids' Choice Awards, which is set to air on Mar. 27. James, who as host will be in line for the traditional full body slime regimen, was effusive about the honor, stating "hosting the Kids' Choice Awards completes me."Kids have notoriously strange taste. But the star of 'Paul Blart: Mall Cop' will have to share the spotlight with a particularly unusual batch of nominees this year, as President and Mrs. Obama go head to head with the cast of 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon' in the new Cutest Couple category. This should prove to be an issue nearly as divisive as national health care, as both Team Jacob and Team Edward are nominated alongside Team Barack and the cross-species romantics from 'Avatar,' Neytiri and Jake.

Cutest Couple isn't the only category 'Twilight' is in competition for, though, as the vampire phenomenon took a healthy bite of the awards, landing five nominations. That haul puts 'Twilight' just ahead of tween sensation Miley Cyrus, who scored four nods, and the brother teams of Sprouse and Jonas, who landed three nominations each.

That's right: Miley Cyrus got more nominations than those dreamboats from Jonas Brothers. Like we said, there's no accounting for taste. But don't worry: Even if your favorites don't end up winning the online vote (which begins here on February 25), you can always drown your sorrows with a nice peanut butter and pickle sandwich.
