TV Casting: Laurie Metcalf Books 'Strange' Role; Taryn Manning Headed to 'Hawaii'

Metcalf -- who won three Emmys for her work as Jackie on ABC's 'Roseanne' -- will star in 'Strange Brew,' a new comedy pilot set to air on Fox. Metcalf will play the mother in the series from David Kohan and Max Mutchnik ('Will & Grace'), about a dysfunctional family that owns a regional brewery. Metcalf's character is being described as a "newly sober" mom in her 40s. [Hollywood Reporter]

Taryn ManningTaryn Manning ('Hustle & Flow') is headed to Hawaii -- no, not to appear on that show about a kooky island. According to reports, she'll co-star in the upcoming CBS remake of 'Hawaii Five-0,' playing Mary Ann McGarrett. Manning joins the previously cast Daniel Dae Kim and star Alex O'Loughlin.
