According to an exclusive report from EW.com, 'Lost' executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse have confirmed that actress Maggie Grace will return for the show's final season as Boone's (Ian Somerhalder) bratty stepsister.

"We're really excited about having her back on the show," Cuse told EW, "and we have a good story for her."

Further details on Grace's comeback are being kept under wraps. But the news itself should raise a few eyebrows, considering that Shannon was shot and killed by Ana Lucia (Michelle Rodriguez) midway through season 2. (Many of 'Lost''s deceased characters have already appeared this season, including Boone and Charlie, played by Dominic Monaghan.)Maggie GraceShannon lives!

And in other 'Lost' casting news: Andrea Gabriel will also appear sometime this season, according to a press release. Losties will remember Gabriel as Nadia, Sayid's (Naveen Andrews) long-lost love who has appeared in at least one episode of every season. (Only four actors have pulled this off, the release points out.)

Andrea Gabriel"It has been an honor to be involved for the duration of this amazing show. When I was first cast in season one, it was just for a guest starring role on one episode, and I was so excited just to get that! As the show evolved, they continued to bring me back, so I have had the luxury of returning to this character over six years and being able to gradually bring her more fully to life," Gabriel said.

As with Shannon, further details on Nadia's return have yet to be revealed.

File this under yet another one of the island's many mysteries.
