Nicollette Sheridan Returning to TV

When last we saw poor Nicollette Sheridan, her character Edie Britt on 'Desperate Housewives' was in the process of being electrocuted while attempting to escape her murderous third husband. After that experience, just about anything would seem to be smooth sailing for the actress.Even the cutthroat world of a Hollywood stage mom.
Yes, Sheridan's experience dealing with backstabbing psychopaths is about to come in very handy, as the Hollywood Reporter is reporting that the actress has signed on for a new CBS pilot in which she will play an "outrageous stage mother" trying to manage her teen daughter to stardom.

The untitled project, which will star British comedian Paul Kaye as the child's deadbeat dad, comes courtesy of writer Anthony Hines, who will be re-teaming with his 'Borat' and 'Bruno' collaborator, director Larry Charles. The project is the first from Sheridan since she was written out of 'Desperate Housewives' last year following five seasons as the popular man-eater Edie.
One man who remained uneaten, however, was Neal McDonough's psychopathic Dave, which makes sense considering the ease with which McDonough has played nutters over the course of his career. Now he's also set to return to television -- this time opposite Virginia Madsen in the upcoming ABC pilot 'Scoundrels,' which is based on a New Zealand dramedy about a family of criminals trying to go straight.
Now if only we can convince the two networks to arrange a crossover reunion ...
