Bristol Palin to Appear on 'The Secret Life of an American Teenager'

Bristol PalinThe eldest daughter of former Alaskan Governor and Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin will be appearing on an episode of 'The Secret Life of an American Teenager.' She'll be playing herself, a role she is likely familiar with after all this time. The show itself centers around a teen pregnancy, which is a subject that Bristol is quite familiar with.

It's a pretty gutsy move on the part of Ms. Palin considering the anti-Hollywood rhetoric that Sarah has espoused again and again. In fact, this appearance is likely a response to that 'Family Guy' controversy with her mother, possibly to lend support to more "family friendly" programming found on channels like Disney and ABC Family.

The whole situation reeks of a public service announcement, albeit a fairly involved one. Of course, one could also argue that 'The Secret Life of an American Teenager' is an after-school special premise that was turned into a series.

I suspect that she will promote her stance on abstinence on the show. Someone should because if you watch it, all they ever talk about is sex. I counted the times they said that word on one show and lost count at 53 times and it had only been on for about 40 minutes. For petes sake in one sentence the word is said at least 4 times. I get that hormones are raging during the teens, but they could at least have a couple of kids on this show whose focus is elsewhere. There are still a few that make it through high school without indulging in sex.
