Louis Gossett Jr. Discusses Prostate Cancer Diagnosis (VIDEO)

Louis Gossett Jr. discussed his recent diagnosis of prostate cancer on 'Good Morning America' (weekdays, 7AM ET on ABC), and strongly suggested that all men over 50 years of age have regular prostate screenings.

Gossett was upbeat and reported that doctors detected his disease in its early stages. However, he recommended that all men of a certain age undergo regular examinations to ensure a good prognosis.

"This is just an episode in life. I caught it very early," he said. "I have to strongly encourage every man to do examinations early and often after 50 years old."
