Rachael Leigh CookThe gal from the "This is your brain on drugs" PSA has come a long way from smashing some poor sap's house up with a frying pan. Now she's got her own Fox sitcom.

Rachael Leigh Cook will play the female lead in a new sitcom called 'Nirvana.'
The series revolves around two Indian-American brothers trying to assimilate into the American culture, and Cook plays one of the boys' girlfriends. It's one of two Indian infused shows coming to a television set near you, along with the NBC office sitcom 'Outsourced.'

Does this mean that Ms. Cook's red-herring arc in Psych is finally over? Please?

I mean, her decolletage during the "brought a date to the crime scene" segment in the season premiere was just magnificent. For the ages.

But for the most part, her character Abigail has been a very, very transparent device to keep Shawn and Juliet from hooking up.

Psych lately has been like a horror movie where the heroine keeps throwing things in the killer's path: A chair! A mail cart! A hat rack! And he just keeps on coming. The Psych writers are chucking everything they can find in Shawn/Juliet's path: Abigail! Accusing Juliet's brother of murder! Juliet's long-lost college sweetie!

To those writers: It was you guys who gave Juliet that big love confession at the end of the Ally Sheedy episode. Now deal with it, one way or another.

That is all.
