Worst 'American Idol' Semifinalists Ever -- #8: Tatiana Del Toro

For the next two weeks, we're teaming with Vote for the Worst to name the 10 worst 'American Idol' semifinalists ever. Check back tomorrow to see their pick for number seven.Name: Tatiana Del Toro
Season: 8
Worst Performance: 'Saving All My Love for You' (Wild Card Round)
Why We Loved to Hate Her: Of all the headaches she caused during season 8, perhaps the most frustrating thing about Tatiana Del Toro was that she never should have made it to the semifinals in the first place.
Based on previous seasons, her role on 'Idol' was simply to cause drama during Hollywood Week -- and that she did with her incessant crying, laughing and begging. Not a single contestant wanted to be around her, and quite frankly neither did we.
Yet for some reason, the show saw potential (read: ratings) in Tatiana Del Toro and decided to put her through to the semifinals. Looking back on it now, it made sense, given that the show had expanded its crop of semifinalists from 24 to 36 that year and, to be fair, her performance of Whitney Houston's 'Saving All My Love for You' really wasn't all that bad.

Still, viewers felt that it wasn't enough to crack the top 12 and went with Danny Gokey, Alexis Grace and Michael Sarver instead. At long last, it seemed that Tatiana's 'Idol' reign was finally over.
But then things started to get weird. Instead of sending Tatiana on her crazy way, the judges brought her back for the revival of the Wild Card round. And if that wasn't enough, when it came time for her second performance, Tatiana chose to sing -- wait for it -- 'Saving All My Love for You.'
Again.
Tatiana should have known not to sing a Whitney Houston song (twice, no less), but by then, the judges should have known not to bother with arguably the most unstable and volatile contestant in the history of 'American Idol.' She was shrill, desperate and grating, and in a handful of weeks had gone from a contestant we loved to hate to someone we just plain hated.
In the end, the judges saved their love for other wild card contestants and said goodbye to Tatiana once and for all. Luckily, we haven't heard from her -- or that pesky Whitney song -- since.
