Watch the eliminations after the jump. After a gender-crossing group performance of Estelle's 'American Boy' in which both the guys and gals traded verses, Janell Wheeler, Ashley Rodriguez, Joe Munoz and Tyler Grady were eliminated from the 'American Idol' (Thu., 8PM ET on Fox) top 24. Not surprisingly, some took the news better than others.

Wheeler was sent packing first and didn't seem surprised that her lackluster performance of 'What About Love?' by Heart didn't earn her a top spot. Rodriguez seemed genuinely irritated by her elimination, but she thanked "Everyone who has supported me from day one, my mom, my dad, my family. I love you guys."

Munoz seemed surprised and was at a loss for words. "America votes, so ... I wasn't expecting anything. I was just waiting for things to happen," he said cryptically. But Gangly rocker Grady blamed his elimination on lack of coaching from the judges. "I like all the judges and I've really had a great time with them, but I feel like I really didn't get much constructive criticism during Hollywood week," he said. "And I feel like what they told me was a little bit too late."
