Randy's 'Survivor' Exit Interview

by Audrey Fine, posted Feb 26th 2010 3:40PM
Randy BaileyAfter two demoralizing defeats, the sun finally shined (even though it was raining) on 'Survivor''s good guys last night. The "Heroes" shut out the "Villains" in a particularly physical "sumo-style" rock 'em sock 'em robots-type challenge -- replete with ooey-gooey mud.

The Heroes delighted in tossing meanie after meanie into the muck and when it came down to the last pair, Randy vs. James, the contest became almost laughable.

A nano-second after Jeff's "Go!" Randy was neck deep in mud and he'd barely have time to wash it off before his tribe -- seemingly under Parvati's flirty spell -- snuffed the torch he'd just gotten to light. (Randy's rebuttal? Tossing the buff into the fire on his way out. Effigy. Nice touch.)

Does the 50-year-old Texan think he got the boot just because he doesn't have a "pretty smile and a nice wiggle" like the girls on his tribe? Yup. Is he happy about it? We're guessing not.

Did he have the patience to respond to our notoriously goofy questions? Have a look ...Randy BaileyAfter two demoralizing defeats, the sun finally shined (even though it was raining) on 'Survivor''s good guys last night. Going into this season I thought I wanted to align with ...
Coach and Tyson -- and that's as far as I thought ahead. We'd heard rumors that they'd be doing 'Heroes vs. Villains' and I figured that the three of us were villains. Making plans when you're playing survivor is, I think, not always a good idea; you have to wait till you're there, because there are a lot of variables involved.

I got along best with ...
Surprisingly, I got along great with Jerri. I just love her. I even got along with Parvati; I wanted her voted out, but still I liked her. I got along with Coach swimmingly, though I didn't bond as well with Tyson as I'd thought I would. He allied with Courtney early and I couldn't see where he was going.

____________ is cooler than he/she seems.
Jerri is cooler; Coach is cooler. Russell and Boston Rob are douchier.

_____________ was most susceptible to the girls' flirting?
Russell, Tyson and, believe it or not, Boston Rob.

What was the luxury item you lost out on getting back by not winning the challenge?
A Voodoo doll of Probst.

You're driving across the country. Who rides shotgun? Who rides in the trunk?
Coach is assigned to drive. I get to ride shotgun so I can drink. And, Rob is not only in the trunk but he's deceased.

Other than 'Survivor', my favorite reality TV show is ________.
'Survivor''s not at the top any more -- it used to be. I like 'Big Brother.' I like the beginning episodes of 'American Idol' when people that suck are singing. I love 'The Biggest Loser.' But my favorite one of all time was the 'Joe Schmo' show.

Who's the best fictional or real life villain of all time?
Hannibal Lecter -- and I say that in a sophisticated kind of way. He was a villain that was as despicable as they come. He murdered people and ate them; however, the way that he was edited in the movie, you liked him and were pulling for him -- much like on 'Survivor'.
