The games also broke 'American Idol''s 222-episode winning streak by beating the reality show in head-to-head competition on Wed., Feb. 17.

However, it still wasn't enough to top CBS' coverage of the 1994 Olympics in Lillehammer (204 million viewers), which may have been influenced by the scandal between figure skaters Nancy Kerrigan and Tonya Harding.

On Sunday, Canada set a new personal best by winning its 14th Gold medal of the games in the men's hockey final vs. the United States. The U.S. led the overall medal count for only the second time in history, with 37.
