Will Forte as MacGruberThat ticking countdown clock that has been a device of countless action explosion movies has just gotten a few more minutes on the clock. Don't you just love it when life imitates art?

The big screen 'MacGruber' movie, based on the popular 'SNL' sketch, has earned a later release date due to scheduling conflicts with other Warner Bros. properties.

The movie, directed by 'Lonely Island' member and 'SNL' writer Jorma Taccone, will hit a theater near you on May 21 instead of April 9.

So now we are making movies from a mediocre parody of an old TV show? This explains why Conan is unemployed and Jay Leno is back on top of late night - the light bulb in the American mind is just too dim...

Translation: Ohhhhh Crap we paid for this thing?
Yeah why release it in April when it's a somewhat slow month for releases, we'll dump it in the major release month of May. I wouldn't be surprised for it to be pushed back again to August and dumped in that cesspool of crap movie releases.

Claiming that MacGruber is a "popular sketch" seems unsubstantiated. How is such popularity measured and is there room for any of their sketches to be unpopular? Or does popular just mean a sucky sketch that the producers just keep doing over and over and over again, because they can?

Didn't they just announce this movie about 6 months ago? It's already done?
