Emmitt Smith Tears Up on 'Oprah Winfrey' Discussing His Search for His Roots (VIDEO)

Hall of Fame Football player Emmitt Smith -- who was born in Florida -- traveled to Alabama to research his ancestry. In Burnt Corn, where his great-great-grandmother was born, he meets up with his second cousin and his family. On 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' (syndicated, weekdays), Smith teared up as he discussed his search and its results. "All the time, people want closure," he said. "And I feel that my folks didn't have closure. And when I found that information, I felt that they were crying out, 'we've got closure now.'"
