Bear Grylls Hosting 'Worst Case Scenario' Revival

by Danny Gallagher, posted Mar 15th 2010 8:32PM
The 'Man vs. Wild' host's career just got a little wilder.

Discovery announced that Bear Grylls will host six episode of a new survival show called 'Worst Case Scenario,' based on the popular line of books published by Quirk Books.

The show will put Grylls in a series of heightened and dangerous situations to teach viewers how to survive them or at least walk away with most of your limbs still intact.

This isn't the first time the book series has gotten the TV treatment. TBS turned the book series into a reality information show that only lasted two seasons and featured a fresh-faced Mike Rowe before he found infamy as the host of Discovery's 'Dirty Jobs'.

So... how will he be cheating?

I used to actually like his show, but ever since I learned it was all fake I stopped watching. I have much more respect for that Les Stroud guy, though he probably cheats too. Bottom line is no insurance company is going to underwrite a show like these where someone (especially the host, no less) is put in danger unless they're really not in danger, and you need to have insurance to have a show on TV.

Can't wait! Hopefully the Canadian air date is not delayed.
