What to Watch: March 15

by Kim Potts, posted Mar 15th 2010 6:00AM
'Jessica Simpson's The Price of Beauty' (10PM, VH1) series premiere
Blame it all on those mom jeans. Still dealing with comments about her weight that began when she was photographed wearing those infamous high-waist jeans during a concert in 2009, pop star Simpson rejoins reality TV land with this series, in which she travels all over the world and examines what women in other cultures do in the name of beauty. In the opener, Simpson and BFF CaCee Cobb and hairdresser pal Ken Paves jet off to Thailand, where Simpson experiences first hand the tribal custom of women lengthening their necks by wearing heavy metal rings. Future eps find her in Uganda, where brides actually gain as much weight as they can before they're married, as well as Japan, France, Brazil, Morocco and Los Angeles. The series will also find Simpson speaking freely about events in her personal life, which means John Mayer should probably not tune in.'Jessica Simpson's The Price of Beauty' (10PM, VH1) series premiere
