According to the Hollywood Reporter, Starz has greenlit 'Camelot,' a contemporary retelling of the King Arthur legend from a producing team led by Graham King ('The Departed,' pictured) and 'Tudors' creators Morgan O'Sullivan and Michael Hirst.

Thomas Malory's 15th century compilation, 'Le Morte d'Arthur' -- often considered the definitive work on the legend of King Arthur -- will be the starting point for a take on the story that looks to weave authenticity into a narrative relatable to contemporary audiences. Casting is currently underway, with shooting to take place in Ireland beginning in June. The 10-episode series will be written by Chris Chibnall ('Torchwood') and is scheduled to premiere during the first half of 2011.

Starz is currently enjoying great success with its historical series 'Spartacus: Blood and Sand.' The new season of its hit comedy series, 'Party Down,' begins Fri., April 23 at 10PM.
