According to the NY Times' Media Decoder blog, the two-hour season 10 premiere drew an incredible 23.9 million viewers and a 6.3 rating in the coveted 18-49 demo, making it the most-watched episode of 'DWTS' since Nov. 2007. And if that wasn't enough good news -- or 'Dancing' puns -- for one post, the show also waltzed past 'American Idol's' numbers from last week, which earned 22.9 million and 20.5 million on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively.

This is yet another low blow for 'Idol,' which has struggled for much of its ninth season. Last month, the longrunning reality-competition series was dethroned by NBC's coverage of the Olympics after an astounding 226-episode run at number one.

'Dancing With the Stars' returns for an all new episode next Monday at 8PM on ABC.
