In a show that sounds kinda like 'How I Met Your Mother: Pittsburgh,' 'My Name Is Earl' Emmy winner Jaime Pressly has signed on to star in a new CBS comedy from 'Mother' producers Carter Bays and Craig Thomas.

The untitled, multi-camera comedy is set in the Steel City and revolves around unmarried couple Tommy ('Worst Week' star Kyle Bornheimer, who bit the dust as a guest spy on last night's 'Chuck') and Gina, and their group of friends. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Pressly plays a veterinarian who is Tommy's BFF and co-worker at the Pittsburgh Zoo.In a show that sounds kinda like 'How I Met Your Mother: Pittsburgh,' 'My Name Is Earl' Emmy winner Jaime Pressly has signed on to star in a new CBS comedy from 'Mother' producers Carter Bays and Craig Thomas.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Pressly plays a veterinarian who is Tommy's BFF and co-worker at the Pittsburgh Zoo.

The series is Pressly's first full-time TV gig since 'Earl' ended its four-season run on NBC, though she did star in a cheeky Axe body wash ad, and will guest star as a potential surrogate mom in an episode of CBS' 'Rules of Engagement' in April.

Pressly, who nabbed the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Emmy in 2007 for her role as 'Earl's' scheming Joy, also co-stars with Hilary Duff in the upcoming ABC Family romantic comedy 'Beauty & the Briefcase.'

Meanwhile, her fellow 'Earl' stars are also headed back to primetime. Jason Lee stars in the George Clooney-produced 'Memphis Beat' (formerly titled 'Delta Blues'), about a Memphis cop who moonlights as an Elvis impersonator. The quirky drama is scheduled for a summer 2010 premiere on TNT.

And Lee's TV brother, the Emmy-worthy Ethan Suplee, has signed on for the Fox comedy pilot 'Nevermind Nirvana,' about a pair of Indian-American brothers and their friends. Suplee will reportedly play a dentist and friend to one of the brothers in the sitcom, which also stars Rachael Leigh Cook and 'Past Life' star Ravi Patel.
