In the latest episode, actor Matthew Broderick learns some unexpected facts about his family. Broderick's father died when he was 20 years old, so Broderick has a great deal to learn about his own relatives.

It turns out that Broderick's grandfather fought in World War I, and was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross -- the second highest award for gallantry in the US Military -- for "giving first aid to the wounded under heavy shell and machine gun fire."

"I'm enormously proud of him," Broderick says. To add to that, the actor also learned during the episode that his great-great-grandfather was also a war hero; he fought in the Battle of Gettysburg during the American Civil War.
