'24' Finale Will Include Eriq La Salle

by Allison Waldman, posted Mar 29th 2010 12:06PM
eriq_la_salle_smiling_blueThe news that '24' is coming to an end with the finale of this season wasn't as big a shock as some might have thought a few years back. After all, the ratings were down and some folks wondered if '24' had jumped the you-know-what. Still, when a great show calls it a day, it's a sad time for television.

At least in the finale, '24' will be bringing on some big names to gussy up the finish. 'ER's' Eriq La Salle will appear in the last two '24' episodes, for instance. Eriq will not be playing a surgeon asked to stitch together the remaining limbs of Jack Bauer before shipping him off to Kim in California. In fact, he won't be in scrubs at all.

Eriq's going to be playing the Secretary General of the United Nations. He'll be a diplomat and could actually be asked to smile because his character is described as charming and regal. For those who remember him only as Peter Benton on 'ER,' it'll be great to see him in a new light.

Also appearing on '24' in the remaining episodes will be Michael Madsen. That's right, the same Michael Madsen who was a stone-cold assassin in 'Kill Bill' and a great character actor in other films, as well. He's going to be Jim Ricker on '24,' a former military man who has a past with Jack.

NO WAY are they cancelling 24. This is the worst mistake they have made since cancelling Prison Break. Hopefully it will get picked up somewhere else. Best of Luck to the cast of 24. Thanks for the great seasons.

OH, NO!! SAY IT ISN'T SO! "24" is absolutely my favorite show on TV; always sad to see the season end. Monday night without Jack Bauer . . . unbearable! Hope they change their minds and bring Jack back next season.

This is a sad day indeed. "24" was on the cutting edge when it first aired and I still believe that it is television at its best. Look at the garbage they have left on TV and this is the show they decide to cancel? Makes no sense. Don't know what I'll do without life with Jack Bauer in it. He's the only thing that made Monday's bearable. I actually looked forward to Monday. What a loss for GOOD TV, which there is so seldom any of.

I gave up on the series this year. I prefer MI-5 which is on my local PBS station right after 24. 24 also conflicted with Life on Mars. I don't think I 'll watch the finale.

What are you idiots watching?? This is "24's" best season in a couple of years. It stays exciting and the acting is far better than in recent past.

And "24" without Jack? Seriously?

Go watch the Lifetime channel with your lazy girlfriends.

Good show. Good concept ~ i think the producers need to simply have Jack 'pass the torch' to a NEW Agent (Eric LaSalle) ~ and have the show continue, with a new storyline, etc. built around the new character. Can I get a holla up in here...?

those are big names??????? madsen at least has been in some known films, but lasalle?? what has he done since er, an he was never the "star" of that show. other shows have had much bigger guest stars this season, 24 has just hit the skids ! sadly.

I didn't watch this season because I got sick of being lectured to about being green and global warming and all that crap...that and last year's show really got stupid after Jack was exposed to all of those chemicals and didn't die...and killing off Bill...what a mistake that was.

I'm only gonna watch the finale if Eriq La Salle does that thing from ER's opening credits where he punches the air for no reason.
