The Los Angeles Times reports that Marlee Matlin is taking her new reality TV series, 'My Deaf Family,' to YouTube. Matlin's decision to take her series to the Internet comes after being unable to find a home for it on any television network.

Several television networks expressed interest in 'My Deaf Family,' but none felt they could make a series about the lives and struggles of deaf people work in a genre dominated by wife swappers, party girls, aging rock stars and dieting divas.

Marlee Matlin, who won the 1986 Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in 'Children of a Lesser God,' financed the series herself, which follows a Fremont, California, family, in which all of the members are deaf except for the oldest son, Jared, and the youngest, Elijah. It is narrated by Jared.
