'America's Next Top Model' - 'America's Next Top Vampire' Recap

(S14E04) This week on 'America's Next Top Model,' Tyra banks decided to continue trying to be current by realizing that people like vampires. At least it was a step more current than her MySpace parody in the first episode. It makes me wonder if people will find bloody vampires as controversial as the dead model photoshoot in Cycle Eight, or is there a double standard with vampires?
Speaking of vampires, Tyra continues to suck the souls of her contestants. This week, Brenda was forced to change her hair yet again. Instead of soccer mom, Brenda's sides were buzzed to give her more of a faux-hawk look.
Miss Jay introduces the girls to the Upright Citizens Brigade. Instead of actually teaching the girls about improv, they force the contestants to watch a bit of a man angrily changing a diaper. If you've ever seen a father at three in the morning angry for being woken up, that's nothing new. The contestants then try improv and on the whole, were unsuccessful. The challenge reminded me of Cycle Seven when Melrose "boxed" and CariDee drunkenly tried to hide.
Dania Ramirez, best remembered as Maya Herrera on 'Heroes,' provides the girls a CoverGirl related challenge. While most of the girls channel their inner 'Price is Right' model, Tatianna manages to win after whipping her hair and looking like she was in a hair commercial. She receives an advertorial for CoverGirl.
Back in the house, drama continues with Alasia. This time Anslee turns on Alasia. The best part of the fight between the two is that Angelea stares and pats her head instead of getting involved. She almost looks like she continues doing random kitchen chores around the fighting. Angelea proves she's from the streets. Krista has to get out of bed to stop Alasia.
The photoshoot starts with Jay dressed up as a really gay Neo from 'The Matrix' and attempts to pass it off as "vampire." The girls will have to model with white contacts that block their sight in a tub of blood. I'm still not sure if the blood was human or even real. Tatianna gets into the shoot and licks; I guess someone will have to ask her one day.
The girls looked amazing during the shoots, but during judging, the photos are just okay. Krista is called out for giving the "poop smell" look on her face. Anslee tries to make excuses about her poor photo, as well as her poor performance on the CoverGirl challenge. After deliberation Tyra announces Alasia as the winner this week. She is followed by Reina, Tatianna, Brenda, Alexandra, Angelea, Jessica, and Krista. The bottom two are Anslee (full of excuses, poor photos) and Simone(doesn't push hard enough). Simone is eliminated. Her montage of photos was really boring.
Simone has been quite annoying to me for the past few weeks with her edit. Continuously complaining that "this isn't like taking a test" is as bad as Anslee complaining that she couldn't hear the instructions, couldn't she turn to Brenda and ask her what the instructions were? Did you agree with the elimination? Leave comments below.
