'American Chopper' Roars Back

by Scott Harris, posted Apr 7th 2010 11:06AM
After six seasons on Discovery and TLC, the popular reality series 'American Chopper' finally came to an end earlier this year, airing its final episode on Feb. 11 after a surprise cancellation that left fans shocked and heartbroken.
Well, that didn't last long.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, TLC has reached an agreement with the various members of the Teutul family to air another season of 'American Chopper.' Though few details are known -- the full announcement from the network is scheduled to take place during its upfronts later this week -- The New York Post revealed that the upcoming series will be subtitled 'Senior vs. Junior.'

No, the new season won't take place in a high school. Rather, as fans of the show know, the title refers to Orange County Choppers founder Paul Teutul, Sr. and his son, Paul Teutul, Jr., who was fired by his father after repeated arguments over the direction of the company. That rift led to the cancellation of the series, but with Junior now running his own, competing bike shop, it seems as though the show -- and the fighting -- is back on track.

And for once the drama doesn't appear to have been manufactured for television, at least according to executive producer Christo Doyle."This is a very bitter situation that runs really deep -- at times I feel I'm a family therapist and not a producer." Doyle said of the duo, who apparently haven't spoken in over a year.

Filming is slated to begin next week, with all the high drama playing on on TLC beginning in August.
