BET Commits to 'Let's Stay Together'

BET has taken the plunge into original scripted series waters.According to the Hollywood Reporter, the network has greenlit a new comedy pilot, 'Let's Stay Together,' that's already being touted as an "urban 'Mad About You.'"
The show re-unites 'Soul Food' actors Malinda Williams and Bert Belasco as a pediatrician and contractor who try to juggle fast-paced modern careers with an old-school traditional marriage.

BET programmers are betting that 'Together,' which is penned by 'Martin' scribe Jacque Edmonds Cofer, will have a suitable bedfellow in its resuscitated version of 'The Game,' the 'Girlfriends' spin-off that was canceled by the CW last year. (More on that here.)
