Final 'Lost' Cast Photo For Sale

Never let it be said that ABC and Disney would miss the chance to make a buck -- or $50 -- off the fans of 'Lost.' Does that sound cynical, well, judge for yourself. ABC has released the final 'Lost' cast shot, entitled "Final Flight," and it's on display in the new issue of TV Guide. That's the April 19th cover date. It's on checkout stands now.The two-page spread includes a story about the actors' future casting prospects, but the lure here is the picture. Shot by ABC chief photographer Bob D'Amico, the image is going on sale as a limited collectible by the network. There will be a run of just 300, numbered and signed by D'Amico. Each 16x20 print will include an ABC certificate of authenticity. The price, unframed, is just $49.99. If you're interested, click over now and order it while you can. Here's the link.
By the way, when you go to the site, you'll also be able to buy all of the cast images from every season of 'Lost.' You can decorate your entire house with the 'Lost" cast photos, or create a gallery. You just have to buy the frames -- and explain why you're doing it to your loved ones.
To be honest, it's kind of cool that ABC is making the images available. I'm a collector myself and if I was a 'Lost' uber-fan, I'd be ordering the photos myself. And if you've ever visited any Disney park, the idea of buying collectibles based on ABC or Disney or Pixar company properties is a natural. The same is true of other networks and its intellectual property. So maybe it's a little crass of ABC to be so bold about selling the 'Lost' stuff, but -- what the heck -- nobody's forced to buy.
As for the picture itself, there's always some clues included, assuming you can figure it out. This one, for instance, does not include Desmond. How come? He's surely been a big part of this last season. In fact, he may be the key considering what happened last week with his getting Hurley and Libby together and then going after John Locke.
So why wasn't in the cast photo? Is it because he wasn't originally on the plane? Probably not, because Captain Frank and Ilana are in the picture and they weren't on Oceanic 815. Thoughts? Please, share.
Just for the record, the picture does show Richard Alpert, Ben Linus, Sayid Jarrah, Sun-Hwa Kwon, John Locke, Jack Shephard, Kate Austen, Sawyer, Claire Littleton, Jin-Soo Kwon, Hurley and Miles Straume.
