'Desperate Housewives' - 'We All Deserve to Die' Recap
(S06E19) "Sometimes ... we let it in." - Mary Alice about "Evil"After months without mentioning the strangler storyline, 'Desperate Housewives' finally let "Evil" back in and treated us not only with hints and, sadly, a new killing, but also with the identity of the culprit!!!
We first saw the person in the second episode of the season. My immediate instinct was that the strangled was a young man with whom Julie may have had a complicated "thing" with and that I didn't think it was Julie's ex (played by Steven Weber). In comments TV Squad readers left to my review of that episode, most fingers were pointed at Danny, McCluskey, Ana, Angie, Roy, and Katherine. Of course, as more episodes aired, people were added to the list while others were removed. Did you guess right? The answer coming up!
And the strangler is...
Eddie!!! So it is a young man as I first predicted. However, I never pointed the finger at Eddie as I later thought that the strangler could be a woman and maybe that there was a copy cat out there. Even if I didn't pick Eddie as a suspect, the reveal at the end of the episode was not that shocking.
It'll be interesting to see what were Eddie's motives to kill the waitress and to strangle Julie. Was he rejected by both as Irina was? I seem to recall him trying to flirt with both ladies earlier this season but I'm not 100% sure. Did he? Eddie sure quickly went somewhere dark in his head when Irina said no to his suggestions and made fun of him. In seconds, he was off the road, killed her and started burying her. It wouldn't surprise me if Eddie had a troubled childhood during which he was rejected, isolated and even beaten up.
Did you guess Eddie was the strangler? Which hints lead you to believe he was the culprit? Why do you think he killed the waitress and tried to strangle Julie to death? Share your theories in comments below!
Preston - Irina = no more mustache?
Felicity Huffman deserves an Emmy for her work on 'DH.' She once again rocked in that last scene where she tells a silent Preston that she would rather have him hate her for the rest of his life than seeing him make the biggest mistake of his life and that she would wait as long as it would take for him to forgive her. Aww ...
Now that Irina is out of Preston's life, will it mean he'll shave that oh so fake mustache? If not, I hope Lynette makes it her next mission! Maybe she could try to shave it during his sleep?
Bye Bye Lee
I can't believe Lee is gone. He was one of my favorite characters!!! At least the writers gave the couple a good storyline if that was really their last one together. How sad was it to see Bob and Lee struggle with the news that they lost their egg donor and later see Bob explain to Gaby that Lee was gone and that they had broken up. It's understandable that Lee is tired of a process as it's a long and frustrating one, but let's hope that a few days away from Wisteria Lane shows him that he needs to be with Bob and that he shouldn't give up.
As good a friend Gaby is to Bob and Lee, I was disappointed to see that she couldn't tell them the truth about not wanting to give her eggs anymore. Bob and Lee have always been understandable people and would have surely understood that Gaby couldn't do it anymore as she feared she wouldn't be able to let go of her child even if, by the law, it wouldn't have been hers. They would have been disappointed and maybe they wouldn't have spoken to her for a few days, but I'm sure they would have patched things and make up in the end, no?
Patrick, the novelist
How creepy is Patrick? Not only did he find a way to meet Danny without the latter knowing who Patrick really is, but he planted ideas in Danny's head as to how their family storyline should end! Without all the facts, Danny suggested that the man should kill the woman in Patrick's "novel." Only thing is that the man is really Patrick and that Danny suggested that his mother Angie die!
Patrick claimed he decided not to go ahead with this ending because it was "too easy" and that he came up with a different ending. No matter how he gets there, I'm pretty sure Patrick will try to kill Angie for running away with Danny. Even if Patrick is buddy-buddy with Danny right now, it's unlikely that Danny will follow his bio-dad to NYC when he learns both sides of the story. For sure, this won't have a happy ending!
Sam & Bree
Bravo to Orson for showing to Bree that Sam may not be as white as snow and that he may be the one who switched the Cherry for vinegar. We may not know his ultimate plan yet but one thing is certain, Sam wanted Andrew totally out of the picture so he (Sam) could claim Bree's throne. Good thing that Orson and Bree patched things up a few weeks back so she would believe his theory, eh? With May Sweeps just around the corner, Sam will more than likely get more devious to reach his ultimate goal.
Money, money, money
Susan was right when saying to Mike that they vowed to support one another through tough times. Why is Mike so narrow minded about Susan giving him money? After all, he would give her money if she needed it. Mike lying to Susan about his real money problems and having Carlos lend him the money can only end badly. Susan will more than likely find out and will be hurt that Mike wouldn't trust her and tell her the truth. Is the couple heading towards another divorce? I hope not as we've been there and saw that!
This week's episode definitely set the tone for the May Sweeps episode: more info about the strangler and maybe another attempt to murder someone, Patrick's revenge, Sam's ultimate goal, Susan and Mike's money and couple problems. Action packed episodes are definitely coming our way! And it wouldn't be surprising if Lynette gives birth by the season finale.
