Clear eyes, full hearts can't lose. And neither can 'Friday Night Lights.' The critically acclaimed, woefully underwatched drama returns to NBC on May 7, and the network is heralding its comeback with a three-hanky trailer.

Sure, DirecTV subscribers have already witnessed the fourth season come and go. But for those of you who have been waiting a small eternity for the network airing of the series -- which revolves around high school football in Dillon, Texas -- here's a telling glimpse at what's to come.

And this minute-long trailer succeeds in pulling just the right amount of emotional heartstrings, suggesting a season filled with both tragedy and triumph. Coach Eric Taylor (Kyle Chandler) sports red as the head coach of the newly-established East Dillon football team. There are the beloved familiar faces (Tim and Lyla! Matt Saracen! Landry!) as well as a smattering of new characters (including East Dillon's troubled new quarterback) to look forward to.

What's going to happen with Tim and Lyla? Will Matt stay with Julie in Dillon? How will Coach Taylor's marriage to his wife, Tami (Connie Britton), be impacted when they work at rival schools? May 7 can't come soon enough.

What do you think of the promo? Are you excited about 'Friday Night Lights' return to NBC?
