'Nurse Jackie' - 'Caregiver' Recap
Kevin screwed the pooch by going to the movies with Ginny Flynn and the kids, but that wasn't really what ticked off Jackie. Or was it? Hard to tell, but she used the incident to park herself on the couch instead of the bed, a move that Eleanor pegged as a mistake. Sometimes it seems that Jackie doesn't listen to Eleanor, but this time she did. Kevin got a cell phone 'kiss and make up' message. Why did she feel she had to punish him for the movie when she obviously trusts him not to be doing Ginny? Could it be a reflection of her own guilty feelings about Eddie? Probably.
But what was really going on in Jackie's world was fear of losing her drug supply. With Gloria posting a guard on the pill-o-matix, Jackie was plotting how to continue getting what she needed. When she made a date on the phone, you knew she was circling back to Eddie. Always working the angles, that Jackie.
The guest of the week was Marion Ross. Just a few quick scenes, but very effective. It was very cool that it was Thor who recognized her name -- Renata Ferber -- as a Broadway hairstylist who'd worked on shows from the 60s and 70s, 'Mame,' 'Follies,' 'Company.' She was now a neglected senior whose 24-hour caregiver was MIA. The progression from how she was brought in, unkempt, ragged nails, matted hair, smelling foul, to the way she looked after some All Saints attention was touching.
Using her Jackie powers of justice, Nurse Peyton made sure that the bitch-caregiver was reported to the cops and the gun-toting illegal alien who was supposed to be arrested for the pistol was allowed to escape in a fresh pair of scrubs. Jackie doesn't make a big deal out of her decisions, and fortunately, security cameras never seem to catch her doing bad for a good reason.

-- Thor is right that diabetes is not a glamorous disease, but I'm really worried about his eyesight.
-- How funny was it that Coop thought Gloria was coming on to him when she enlisted him as the new poster boy for All Saints? The Face of All Saints. Will the money really go to charity? I'm guessing it'll be the new skis.
-- Sam finally got Eleanor cornered to discuss the bump in the chapel. Sam wanted to dump her, explaining, "My girlfriend's back." Eleanor's response, "So's mine."
-- The other woman for Eleanor, Sarah Khoury, a gorgeous news reporter, is coming on next week.
-- So after too much bad booze at the Staten Island barbecue, Zoey is now pregnant. I can't see her not having it, can you?
