Tim Gunn Shares Theory on Bad Fashion and Monkeys (VIDEO)

by Donald Deane, posted Apr 20th 2010 3:30PM
On 'The Bonnie Hunt Show' (weekdays, syndicated), Tim Gunn of 'Project Runway' shared an interesting theory on bad fashion that somehow relates to zoo animals. According to Gunn, perpetrators of bad fashion get used to the way they look in the same way a visitor to the zoo becomes acclimated to the terrible smell in the monkey house.

Gunn first describes how the smell of primates at the zoo becomes less and less noticeable over time. Then, he compares the same phenomenon to those guilty of making awful fashion choices. "I can't help but think that they look at themselves in the mirror and think, 'You look ridiculous.' But then, by standing there for 20 minutes or so, they think, 'You know, it's not so bad now,'" he said.
