TV Land Awards Bosom BuddiesThe 8th Annual TV Land Awards, which honors classic television series, will air April 25, 9PM ET on (where else?) TV Land. It continues to be the best awards show on television.

The reason? Producers have once again put together a show that true TV fans will want to see. Watch for tributes to series 'Charlie's Angels,' 'The Love Boat,' 'Bosom Buddies' and 'Everybody Loves Raymond.' The 'Future Classic' award went to 'Glee.'

Presenters include 'Glee's' Jane Lynch, former 'American Idol' judge Paula Abdul, TV legend Bob Newhart, 'Soap's' Billy Crystal, 'Tonight Show' host Jay Leno and Pamela Anderson ('Dancing With the Stars.')

Also, Betty White ('The Mary Tyler Moore Show',) Wendie Malick ('Just Shoot Me') and Jane Leeves ('Frasier') were on hand to promote their upcoming new show, 'Hot in Cleveland,' TV Land's first original sitcom, which debuts on June 16.TV Land Awards Bosom BuddiesThe 8th Annual TV Land Awards, which honors classic television series, will air April 25, 9PM ET on (where else?) Individual honors went to funny men Carl Reiner and Mel Brooks as well as the late Farrah Fawcett. The 'Icon' award went to the rock group 'Blondie,' which performed 'Call Me' and 'One Way Or Another.'

Also, Betty White ('The Mary Tyler Moore Show',) Wendie Malick ('Just Shoot Me') and Jane Leeves ('Frasier') were on hand to promote their upcoming new show, 'Hot in Cleveland,' TV Land's first original sitcom, which debuts on June 16.

Jack Jones, who sang the 'Love Boat' theme, opens the show with a musical number. Tim Allen ('Home Improvement') hosts the show. (Note to Tim and his monologue writers: maybe next time skip the racy digs at beloved characters -- it really was OK for Will Robinson to hang out with Dr. Smith on 'Lost In Space.')

The show-stopping finale features a star-studded cast of TV veterans (led by 'Baywatch's' David Hasselhoff and 'Taxi's' Marilu Henner) doing a musical tribute to 'Glee.'

The Oscar telecast may have omitted Fawcett from its "In Memoriam" tribute, but the TV Land Awards got it right -- Ryan O'Neal hosted a segment that honors the ex-'Angel,' including a clip from her role in the film 'Logan's Run.'

Producers kept the names of the awards short ("Fan Favorite," "Impact," "Legend') and allowed speeches to run long. Everyone who came up on stage -- from Jill Whelan (Vicki on 'The Love Boat') to Cheryl Ladd ('Charlie's Angels') -- got time at the podium.

AOL TV was on the pre-show red carpet on the Sony lot in Culver City, California and spoke to winners and other attendees.

Did 'Raymond' twins Sullivan and Sawyer Sweeten (who played Ray and Debra's boys Michael and Geoffrey) ever trade identities? "We switched places one time in fourth grade," recalled Sullivan. "We got away with it."

There were only 39 episodes of the 1980-81 series 'Bosom Buddies,' but the Tom Hanks/Peter Scolari sitcom is so memorable that it was honored for its 30th anniversary anyway. Sadly, co-star and comedically-gifted Wendie Jo Sperber -- who stole many scenes as Amy -- passed away in 2005. "Wendie's memory will last as long as life shall last," said co-star Donna Dixon. "She was extraordinary. She was gifted. She reminded me of John Candy in that they were both here for a short amount of time, but both lit up the sky."

Scolari and Hanks reunited on air for the first time in years "Congratulations, Tom," Scolari deadpanned to his ex-TV roommate. "I heard you formed a production company. Good luck with that."

Holland Taylor ('Two and a Half Men') recalled the loose atmosphere on the set of 'Buddies.' "We didn't have to hit a mark, which I'm still [expletive] at," she laughed.

The tribute to Fawcett was much appreciated by her co-stars. "I'm just so happy that a) the show is being honored and that b) Farrah is going to have the tribute that she so deserves," said Ladd, who made viewers believe that Kris and Jill Munroe really were sisters. "We just wish Farrah and David Doyle and John Forsythe were all here, too."

"I think the tribute to Farrah is very important," added Jaclyn Smith, the only actress to appear in all five seasons of 'Angels.' "I think everybody loves her. You'll see [in the tribute] a career that shines and is still glowing. It shows her when she's very young ... it shows her as an accomplished actress. She was my dear friend."

Many celebrities were simply happy to be in each other's company. "It's your childhood, livelihood and your neighborhood all coming together," Henner remarked. She's set to appear on '60 Minutes' in May and continues to do her nightclub act. "I also have three books in the works. I'm movin' and groovin'."

"I hadn't seen Peter [Scolari] in some time," said Bob Newhart of his former 'Newhart' co-star. "I'm also looking forward to seeing Ray Romano."

During the show, Romano gave a poignant shout-out to his late TV father Peter Boyle and also his TV father-in-law Robert Culp, who passed away on March 24.

Was the draining dynamic between 'Raymond's' aggravating mother Marie (Doris Roberts) and Amy (Monica Horan) modeled on Horan's relationship with her real-life mother-in-law? (Horan is wed to 'Raymond' creator Phil Rosenthal.) "I will tell you my real mother-in-law -- and I'm not making this up -- was not [Marie and Amy's] relationship," Horan said. "That was her relationship with her mother-in-law. The cycle was broken!"
