Conan O'Brien Will Give First Post-NBC Interview Sunday

by TV Squad Editors, posted Apr 27th 2010 5:54PM
Conan O'BrienFunnyman Conan O'Brien is giving his first interview since the whole NBC late night fiasco and it's going to be on CBS' '60 Minutes' this Sun., May 2 at 7PM ET.

The New York Times is reporting that O'Brien's deal with NBC did not allow for him to give any print or broadcast interviews until after May 1, making Sun., May 2 the ideal time for a post-NBC interview.

The segment on Sunday will include O'Brien's current stage show, but focus on the 'Tonight Show' scandal.

Conan is playing this pretty well.

The tour will strengthen his base (I'm not a huge fan, but saw him in LA last weekend anyway) and begin to get his audience excited about his new show.

In the end, losing the Tonight Show will probably be the best thing for Conan. He will be creatively free to create his own show rather than the next iteration of The Tonight Show. He is pretty darn funny and TBS could be a really smart move.

So when will he be on Letterman? His tour doesn't come to NY until June...

Would you have preferred "brouhaha," "debacle," or "Lenocalypse?"
