Wes Moore has an amazing life story. He's been a star football player, Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University, an army captain who served in Afghanistan and a Special Assistant to the White House. But on 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' (weekdays, syndicated) Moore talks about all the hard times that he had growing up.

After his father died, Moore got in trouble with the police. So his mother sent him away to military school. Moore hated it and tried to escape from the school. In fact, he tried to run away from the school five times in four days.

On the show, Moore talks about his final escape attempt -- and how he came to understand the sacrifices that his family had made for him. It's the story of a life-changing moment that transformed his entire future.
