Just because last night's episode of 'Lost' was a rerun (and a surprise rerun at that), that doesn't mean there isn't any news about the show that we can discuss until next week's all-new episode 'The Candidate.'

After the jump, three nuggets of information show fans might be interested in: Henry Ian Cusick explains that ring that Desmond was wearing in this season's first episode, talks about that final cast photo (that he's not in), and we find out what star of a long-running NBC drama is going to make an appearance in one of the last episodes.

Needless to say, MASSIVE SPOILERS FOLLOW.

Desmond's ring. There was a lot of discussion about the ring that Desmond might have been wearing when he met Jack on the plane in the season opener. Does that mean that he and Penny were married? But we thought they weren't married in the flash sideways? In this interview with The Washington Post, Cusick says that, well, there's no big mystery that should clue us in to something that is happening on the show. If he was wearing a wedding ring it was his own and just a continuity error. He shouldn't have been wearing the ring in those scenes.

I guess some 'Lost' mysteries aren't mysteries at all.

The final cast photo. So ABC released this final cast photo, and Desmond isn't in it! A clue to what happens in the end? Again, not really. In the same interview, Cusick explains that Desmond is only in seven episodes this season and isn't one of the main characters (though a lot of fans would beg to differ). So it doesn't mean anything, though Cusick letting it slip that he's only in seven episodes might be a clue itself as millions of fans will now go to the episode guide and figure out how many he has already been in and how many episodes are left.

And guest starring...The New York Post reports (and ABC confirms) that 'The West Wing's' Allison Janney will guest star in one of the last episodes as "Woman." No idea who she will play and how she ties into the mystery, though the Post has an idea that she might have something to do with Jacob or Smokey.
