On 'Modern Family' (Wed., 9PM ET on ABC), a dad takes his child to see a horror film -- and comes to regret it. Jay (Ed O'Neill) runs into a friend who is an actor in a new film, and so he takes stepson Manny (Rico Rodriguez) along with him to see the motion picture. Unfortunately, it turns out to be terrifying.
Now, Jay has to find a way to ease Manny's fears. So he hits upon the idea of inviting the actor over to his house. That way, Manny can learn about how movies aren't actually real. "He's even bringing his fake machete!" Jay says to his wife.
The actor then shows up outside Manny's window, waving a very real looking machete. "Are you Manny?" he says. "I'm here for you! Look what I got!" Understandably, Manny is horrified.
