'V' - 'Hearts and Minds' Recap

(S01E10) "You were right. She didn't care about me. She was just using me. Why am I that much of an idiot?" - Tyler to Erica, about Lisa breaking up with him

Well, if you just listened to us, Tyler, then you'd know you're an idiot. We've known that all along. But things will play out in your favor, because Lisa will come running to you after she gets her legs broken, and you'll join forces with Erica and her Scooby gang to bring down the Vs once and for all. Think I've called that right? We'll see.

It's clear that Lisa really does have human emotions now; did you see how terrified she was when Anna slugged her and ordered one of her minions to break the girl's legs? "Don't worry, daughter. We'll get him back. There is no greater incentive for a human male than a damsel in distress."

Thanks, Mommy, but I could have just gone and talked to him. You didn't have to break my freakin' legs.

Things also played out with the Fifth Column crew just as some of you predicted. Now that Jack, Ryan and Hobbes (I have to call him Hobbes; he's just not a Kyle to me) fired that stinger missile at the V's aircraft, things are all aflutter now. Although I think it would have been better if the humans hadn't been dead before they fired the missile. I don't know if the writers thought that would be too harsh or what, but it sort of softened the whole impending war. We can take it, writers. Give the Fifth Column something to truly grieve over. It'll make them even more determined.

Anyway, yeah, the whole thing was engineered by Anna to make Fifth Column the bad guys. I'm still not sure about Chad. It kind of seems like he's leaning more towards the Fifth Column rather than the Vs. And even though the humans on the shuttle were already dead, he was partially responsible for their non-death because he fed the intel to Anna that a threat was imminent.

What a dunce, though, if he really believes what he said to Jack: "Anna never saw it coming. She'd heard nothing. The Fifth Column caught her off guard, which believe me, is hard to do." Maybe you guys are right and he's been brainwashed. And yes, it appears that the aliens ARE doing experiments on us. I knew it!

And holy smokes, things just got a whole lot more interesting, now that Kendrick put Erica in charge of the task force investigating the Fifth Column, and her partner is Agent Malik, who's crushing on Anna as her "queen." Sweet!

A little advice to 5th Column: You might as well just give up right now, because the minute the Vs realize that you will not attack your own people they will station a human at every base they have. Courtesy Kira Nerys.

Johnzo, Sir Yuck-Yuck, Eightyfiver - Yeah, a tad on the short side, but I think I covered the major plotpoints. Let's continue the discussion here.

I think we all saw it coming that Anna would engineer a backlash against the Fifth Column. What FC should do is get her darker side on tape and broadcast it to the masses. I'm not sure it'd help though, since she's already ingratiated herself with the medical and natural disaster help she's offered humans. People might think it's just a ploy by FC to make her look bad.

And what did you guys think about the pairing of Erica and Malik to bring down the Fifth Column? That should offer some interesting twists going forward.

Wait until Mad Men returns. They will be flooding this site with short novels about how great that show is..

I watch both Mad Men and V. If for nothing but to equate quality Mad Men should get a novella sized review and V a few paragraphs. Lets get real, V isn't that good, it doesn't deserve much.

That's it? That's the whole review? Dear gosh are we brief this week. I'm so glad Lost ends this year.... because I think I will be parting ways with TvSquad after 3.5 great years.
