What to Watch: May 3 - 9

by Stephanie Earp, posted May 5th 2010 11:11AM

Friday Night Lights
- Friday May 7, 8 pm, NBC

The opening episode of season four of this epic and beautiful series is called 'East of Dillon' and finds our favourite coach looking over his lot at East Dillon High, the school that time forgot. As Coach Taylor comes to terms with coaching a team without any of the advantages money can buy, his wife Tami is trying to deal with a new atmosphere at Dillon High. The tension between the haves and the have-nots is mounting. Meanwhile, Matt, Tim and the rest of the kids try to figure out what's left when football is over. Don't expect it to be easy on your heartstrings.

The Biggest Loser - Tuesday May 4, 8 pm, Citytv/NBC

Who doesn't love a good makeover episode? Tonight, the remaining contestants get their hair did and hit the shops with $1,000 to spend on clothes (Is it just me or does that feel like short shrift? $1,000 doesn't go as far as it used to). Once they're all dolled up, they get surprise reunions with loved ones. But all good things must come to an end, and someone still has to go home.

30 Rock - Thursday May 6, 9:30 pm, Citytv/NBC

Holy mothers! Liz's mom (Anita Gillete), Jack's mom (Elaine Stritch) and Jenna's mom (Jan Hooks) all show up to cause havoc for their kids. Even Tracy has a mom experience with guest star Novella Nelson. And if that wasn't enough work for the casting department, Elizabeth Banks returns in her role as yet another of Jack's flames, Avery Jessup. Will someone give La Banks a real job already? She does so much part-time work I'm starting to get her characters mixed up.

Survivor - Thursday May 6, 8 pm, Global/CBS

Sandra makes a last ditch attempt to remove Russell from the game, and finds an unlikely ally in Parvarti. I honestly don't know what's taking these players so long to identify the threat that Russell poses. One look in those serial killer eyes and I'd be writing his name down in my sleep.
