Bravo's Mother's Day Gift: Bethenney Frankel Has Her Baby

Just in time for Mother's Day, 'The Real Housewives of New York City's' Bethenny Frankel gave birth to her first child on Saturday, May 8. Bethenny and new hubby Jason Hoppy became the proud parents of a daughter, Bryn Hoppy. The little one was a few weeks early – she was due in mid-June -- but was a healthy 4 lbs., 12 ounces. It's wonderful news for Bethenny Frankel, and in typical 'Housewives' fashion, the one who first reported the birth to the news was Jill Zarin, BF's former BFF. Currently on 'Real Housewives of New York City,' Bethenny and Jill have been having a season-long break-up.
Nevertheless, Jill jumped on Facebook yesterday to spread the word that Bethenny's baby had arrived. Unfortunately, she had the sex wrong. Jill reported that baby Hoppy was a boy. Oops!
Bravo must be overjoyed with this news. The baby coming this week can only help drive ratings for the last episodes of 'The Real Housewives of New York City,' and boost the premiere of Bethenny's new show, 'Bethenny's Getting Married' which will premiere on Thursday, June 10 at 10 PM.
It's enough to make you wonder if Bethenny induced labor, but that's just too cynical for anyone to think ... right?
By the way, have you been watching this season of 'Real Housewives of New York City'? Doesn't it seem like Jill really got some bad advice about letting herself be depicted at the villain? Considering how nurturing and loving she's been in the past, especially with Bethenny, this year's switch to mean girl Jill with attitude to spare was a real shocker.
And it hasn't helped her sell that new book at all. 'Secrets of a Jewish Mother: Real Advice, Real Stories, Real Love' has been garnering bad reviews on Amazon and lead to 'Amazon-gate,' the revelation that Jill was writing her own good reviews to counter the negative. Not good for Jill, but funny.
