Happy Mother's Day to Seven Reality Show Moms

by Jane Boursaw, posted May 9th 2010 11:03AM
Kris Jenner, Keeping Up With the KardashiansThere are all kinds of moms on TV. Moms who are funny, quirky, sexy, gorgeous, and sometimes all of the above.

Some of my favorite TV moms aren't actually even playing a mom at all. They're real moms on reality shows who are putting it all out there for us to see. They're letting us see the good, the bad and the ugly of their lives, and we inevitably compare and see how we stack up.

Here are seven of my favorite reality show moms. Feel free to add your own in the comments below.

1. Kris Jenner, the Drama Queen.
Sure, she's more dramatic than a Greek tragedy when it comes to, well, everything on 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians.' But the self-professed "momager" is always there for her kids, whether it's fending off paparazzi after a sex tape debacle or protecting a daughter who's hooked up with a smarmy loser. You know who you are.

2. Kendra Baskett, the New Mom.
Who'd have thunk that the former resident of the Playboy Mansion would become such an attentive and nurturing mom? Along with hubby Hank, the star of 'Kendra' cares for Baby Hank as if there's nothing else that matters in the world. Because there really isn't.

3. Kate Gosselin, the Overwhelmed Mom. Whatever you say about Kate, you can't say that the former star of 'Jon & Kate Plus 8' isn't overwhelmed caring for those eight kids in the public eye. Some say Kate should get out of the limelight, stay home, and take care of her family. I think she's doing the best she can under the circumstances. Can she extend her 15 minutes AND take care of her family? I think she can.

4. Denise Richards, the Ditsy Mom. The star of 'Denise Richards: It's Complicated' appears to be such a dumb blond, but you can tell she really cares for her kids. And anyone who's been in the movie and TV business for the past two decades is a lot smarter than she looks.

5. Britney Spears, the Comeback Mom. The pop star's life may have been a complete disaster when she starred in 'Britney and Kevin: Chaotic,' but the girl's managed to restore a little order to her life, put out a hit album, and appear on several popular TV shows.

6. Amy Roloff, the Dedicated Mom.
No list of reality show moms would be complete without mentioning the star of 'Little People, Big World.' It's tough being a mom, but Amy makes it all look easy, from caring for her big and little people to spearheading her charitable endeavors.

7. Sharon Osbourne, the Rocker Mom. It's a crazy life when you're married to one of the original shock rockers, but the star of 'The Osbournes' manages to keep it all together in the eye of the storm. That's pretty much what she's been doing with her husband's long career.

Amy Roloff is a terrific mother. She puts her kids first and foremost all of the time. I don't see how Kate Goslin even qualifies to be on this list, she is the most selfish marcissist person who puts herself first then has the nerve to claim it is for her kids. Sharon Osbourne is there for her kids. The others I don't pay attention to so can't comment on.

With the exception of #6, all of these women are terrible moms.
