As Mary Alice Young's voiceover intoned, "People make choices every day, and those choices are what define us." Lynette Scavo and Eddie Orlofsky both made some defining decisions on 'Desperate Housewives' (Sun., 9PM ET on ABC).

Lynette stopped by Eddie's house to break the news that his mother was the latest murder victim. Her sensitive, maternal care was in high gear, as were Eddie's lies that his mother was alive and well in Florida.

It didn't take long for Lynette to realize that in place of a distraught son, she'd happened upon the Fairview Strangler himself, trying to make an escape. But Lynette was in the way. He dropped his backpack, slowly locked the door, and simply said to her, "I really wish you hadn't come here..."

Finally one of the housewives discovered who the killer was. But too late?
