Burt Reynolds Gets His 'Burn Notice'

by Chris Harnick, posted May 11th 2010 3:30PM
Burt Reynolds is going to be heating things up on USA Network's 'Burn Notice' this summer.

According to the Ausiello Files, the legendary actor will play a famous former CIA operative who has since retired and been cast out of the organization. Looks like Michael Westen (Jeffrey Donovan) is getting a cautionary tale.

Matt Nix, 'Burn Notice' series creator, said things haven't been going too well for Reynolds' character, Paul Anderson, according to the report. Look for Reynolds to tangle with some Russian goons after his character gets in trouble while working as a bartender under an assumed name.

'Burn Notice' premieres Jun. 3. No word yet on a premiere date for Reynolds' episode.

Reynolds recently appeared in a three-episode arc on the canceled NBC series 'My Name Is Earl.'

I too have worked for Burt Reynolds on B.L. Stryker, have particpated in his Master Acting Class and worked closely with him in recent years. I am very happy to see him back involved in the craft that he loves. He has had a difficult year overcoming two major surgeries, one for his back, and most recently five bypass heart surgery. Contrary to some remarks that have been made here, Burt Reynolds is an extremely fine actor, who has a great sense of humor, which has enabled him to play various roles (other than drama) which kept us laughing in the theatre, and in our homes (does anyone remember when he hosted the "Tonight Show"?....he was very funny and real). He continues to be a "Working Actor" with over 50 years in his experience. The numerous awards honoring his work, only verify his ability. He is a kind and generous person, and he always ran a first class production company. I think that Burn Notice will certainly benefit from Burt being on the show. He's a pro and I hope that he gets a recurring role. Go get em Burt!

I think it wouldl be just grand to see Bert Reynolds on TV. If his joke timming is as timeless, the show would be manster piece. I can't wait. I might watch BURN NOTICE stuff!

I don't know about Burt Reynolds. I liked him years ago but he has had so much plastic surgery that he is hard to look at. I wish these actors would just age gracefully. I think he would be much more attractive. He never has been a great actor but he was handsome and funny and we women liked him. Not so much now.

I attended FSU with Burt "Buddy" Reynolds, also. Trust me, he was a real "Hottie" and one of the funniest, nicest guys you could ever know. I'm so happy he is well and acting again. He started on Broadway and went to Hollywood to film "Riverboat" with Darren McGavin.. He's had a heck of a career. Hope he's around for a long time. PS he's still a hottie in my book....Good luck, Buddy.......Pi Phi girl....

I love Burn Notice and everybody on the show .. but I can't stand Burt Reynolds. I think he's an arrogant jerk. I met him back in 89 and I found him to be one of the rudest jackass's I had ever met. I think putting him on B.N. is a huge mistake on the part of USA.
