Torture on '24'How far is too far, if you're a special agent? On '24' (Mon., 9PM ET on Fox), Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) goes all out to catch a killer -- and to avenge the death of a loved one. Does his quest for vengeance get the better of him?

[Spoiler alert.]

Jack tracks down Pavel (Joel Bissonnette) -- the man responsible for the murder of his former lover, Renee Walker. In trying to extract details about Pavel's operation, he resorts to torture. A lot of torture. He cuts the bad guy, attacks him with a wrench, and burns him with a blowtorch. Even then, the torture fails to extract any useful information.

Suddenly, Jack realizes that Pavel has swallowed his cell phone card, which could be used to locate other members of his organization. So Jack slashes Pavel's stomach open with a knife to get the card, killing Pavel in the process.

Jack gets the card -- and a new piece of info. But has he gone too far? Were his actions heroic, or villainous?
