Joel McHale, Sofia Vergara to Announce 2010 Emmy Nominations

Joel McHale Sofia VergaraIn what may be a good sign to come for 'Community' and 'Modern Family,' stars Joel McHale and Sofia Vergara will announce this year's Emmy nominations, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The comedic duo will be joined by TV Academy chairman and CEO John Shaffner for the announcement, which will take place on Jul. 8.

Late-night star Jimmy Fallon will host the 62nd annual Primetime Emmys, airing live Aug. 29 on NBC.

In recent years, actors who announced the nominations coincidentally received nominations of their own. Such was the case last year for Chandra Wilson ('Grey's Anatomy') and Jim Parsons ('Big Bang Theory').

Tell us: Will you wake up extra early to watch McHale and Vergara announce this year's nominees?

Why do they do it so early in the morning anyway?

No, I'll wait for The Soup blog to recap it.

I'd get up early and watch it, if they would finally find attractive, charismatic people to do the announcing of the nominees.

Kidding of course; if Joel and Sofia Vergara had babies, they would be genetically predisposed to be the the hottest, funniest people on the planet.

Still though, I'll probably just end up reading the announcements here and being disappointed that The Wire didn't get more nods.

(Yes, that's a joke too.)
