Spring is in the air, and it's time for the annual Heck family BBQ on 'The Middle' (Wed., 8:30PM ET on ABC). This time around, Frankie Heck (Patricia Heaton) wants her husband Mike (Neil Flynn) to be a little more social and outgoing at the party. But unfortunately, being "social" can sometimes have unintended consequences.

Mike accidentally flirts with a female guest at the party, who quickly puts her hand over his. "So how do you want to play this?" she says in a sultry voice. Mike is horrified. Later on, he and Frankie discuss how the whole misunderstanding came about. Frankie tries to explain the subtle nuances of unintentional flirtation. "You looked into her eyes and told her you 'understand'? You can't do that to a woman," she says.
