HBO Developing New Series With 'Entourage' Creators

Mark WahlbergAccording to the Hollywood Reporter, HBO is close to capping a deal with 'Entourage' executive producers Mark Wahlberg and Stephen Levinson to bring a new show to the premium cable network.

The project, written by newcomer Leah Rachel, who developed the concept with her partner, Emily Montague, focuses on a group of "female friends working and finding romance in Los Angeles."

But while the premise sounds almost exactly like a female version of what's been going down with Vinnie Chase and his, well, entourage for the last seven seasons, the Reporter cites a source who maintains that the script will be less "Hollywood-centric."

So, maybe it's more like 'Sex and the City' in Los Angeles. (Which, as far as we've been able to tell, is what 'Entourage' has always been -- just with guys. Just sayin'.)

Meanwhile, HBO is gung-ho for comedies and it has two biggies in development: 'Tilda,' about a Hollywood blogger (which some say is based on the real-life power-blogger, Nikke Fink) and 'Taxi 0-22,' based on the French-Canadian hit show about an Archie Bunker-esque cabbie, which producer James Gandolfini may (or may not) star in.

I'd be down for a female version of Entourage! Sup laydiesssss. As for the new season 7 of Entourage, I honestly can't wait any longer. I've been watching all the new trailers on HBO's website, and they just keep getting my anticipation and frustration levels UP. I''ve also been playing around on this sweepstakes website of theirs for Feed Your Obsession at www.ObsessedWithHBO.com, and it has been entertaining me a lot! A bunch of cool games AND a chance to win $10,000/instant prizes! Check it out for sure.
