'Big Bang Theory' Moves Into Syndication on Fox, TBS

by Mike Moody, posted May 17th 2010 12:45PM
big bang theoryTV is about to get a lot geekier as 'The Big Bang Theory' moves into syndication.

Fox TV and TBS have signed a lucrative deal to share syndication rights for the hit CBS sitcom, says the Hollywood Reporter. According to the report, both parties worked quickly to snatch up the show, one of the only multi-camera comedies currently attracting a broad audience.

'Big Bang' is the top-rated sitcom among adults 18-49, which could mean big syndication numbers for local Fox stations and TBS.

Repeats will air on TBS and Fox stations starting in fall 2011.

The show is currently in its third season on CBS, which wraps May 24 with an episode featuring 'Blossom' star Mayim Bialik.

With so many TV shows going in syndication on FOX,
I think it's about time they removed either South Park
or The Simpsons from the weekday evening line-up, even
if South Park does air during the wee morning hours.
Sometimes, I think you can only take Syndication TV
so far, broadcasting shows that have aired as late
as the early 2000's, and soon there may not be any
classic TV shows left to air in Syndication, let alone
classic TV shows that are even worth deeming as
classic TV shows for TV land. Something has to give.
