'Survivor' Heading to Nicaragua for Next Two Seasons
With Sandra Diaz-Twine having pocketed her second $1 million prize during last night's 'Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains' finale, the original reality show officially has 20 successful seasons tucked securely under its belt. (And, it also handed CBS a Sunday night ratings win -- 6.9 rating/12 share.)Next up? Castaway contestants will take on new terrain – and simmering volcanoes, and ferocious wildlife -- when they head down south to Nicaragua to outplay, outwit and outlast each other for the big-buck bounty, according to PR Log.
After back-to-back seasons in Samoa, the crew and 40 all-new contestants, will descend upon the beautiful beaches of San Juan del Sur for the next two installments of the Emmy-winning series.
Although they're being predictably tight-lipped with details, producers have promised a spate of new challenges and, as host Jeff Probst mentioned in his EW.com blog, because of what they're calling the "Russell Factor," (contestant Russell Hantz regularly managed to uncover them in a matter of minutes) it's going to be a lot harder to find immunity idols.
'Survivor: Nicaragua' will begin airing this September on CBS.
