Of all the reasons that draw people into music, attracting women is a big one. For Michael Lynche too, the latest 'American Idol' cast-off, stepping up his game was a big motivation, he admitted on the 'Late Show' (weeknights, 11:35PM ET on CBS).

"Singing was something that worked for me when I was in junior high school. I noticed the ladies liked it," Lynche said. David Letterman also sang in junior high -- but with different results.
