by Mike Moody, posted May 19th 2010 1:20PM
Stand Up To CancerAfter vying for the same advertising dollars during their upfront presentations this week, the networks are now teaming up for another 'Stand Up To Cancer' fundraising event.

The presentation will mirror the 2008 broadcast with celebrity appearances and performances by popular music acts, reports TV Guide. The three network evening news anchors -- CBS's Katie Couric, ABC's Diane Sawyer, and NBC's Brian Williams -- will share hosting duties for the event, which will be simulcast commercial-free on the big three as well as on Discovery Health, E!, MLB Network, Style Network, and HBO on Fri., Sept. 10 at 8PM ET.

The goal of 'Stand Up To Cancer' is to raise funds and awareness for cancer research.

The broadcast will also give viewers a look at how their individual donations help make a difference, according to executive producer and cancer survivor Laura Ziskin.

The 2008 telecast raised more than $100 million and featured appearances by celebs like Jennifer Aniston, Rob Lowe, and Ellen DeGeneres and performances from Sheryl Crow, James Taylor, Melissa Etheridge and others.

A rundown of performers and celebrity guests for September's broadcast has yet to be released.
