It's the next-to-last episode of 'Lost' (Tue., 9PM ET on ABC). And it's time to get some answers.

After surviving a submarine explosion, Jack, Kate, Sawyer and Hurley wash up on shore (played by Matthew Fox, Evangeline Lily, Josh Holloway and Jorge Garcia). They encounter the reborn Jacob (Mark Pellegrino) at a campfire. Jacob tells the group that before the fire goes out, he can answer their questions. Then, he reveals their purpose on the island.

Jacob explains that they were brought there to protect the mystical light that exists at the heart of the island. The light must be defended from the Smoke Monster. Next, Jacob asks for someone to step forward and replace him as the island's protector.

It is Jack who steps forward. Jack assumes the role of the replacement, and Jacob gives him a drink from an enchanted cup of water. "Now you're like me," Jacob says. Will this be Jack's destiny -- to remain on the island forever? Is this what Jack really wants?
