Allison Mack Leaving 'Smallville' -- Well, Sort of

by Rich Keller, posted May 20th 2010 2:40PM
Allison Mack, who plays Chloe Sullivan, will not be returning to 'Smallville' as a regular cast member for the show's last seasonWhen 'Smallville' returns to The CW this fall for its 10th and last season, it will be short one of its most important, and well-liked, cast members.

According to the Ausiello Files, Allison Mack, who portrays Clark Kent's best friend Chloe Sullivan, has opted not to return as a series regular for the final season.

Now, before you rend your clothing in a sign of mourning, there is some good news: Though she won't be coming back as a regular cast member, she will appear in several episodes in order to properly tie up her 'Smallville' legacy. While sad that she's leaving the show that was home to her for the last nine years, Mack says she is looking forward to what lies ahead in her life, knowing that she has the strength of a "superhero" as her foundation.

Created solely for the 'Smallville' television series, Allison made her first appearance as Chloe in the show's pilot episode as editor of the school newspaper. She is the show's last original female cast member. No word yet of how many episodes she'll appear in or when they will air next season.

Oh, I will miss Smallville period. Sigh, great show, guess it had to end sometime. Love Tom Welling and the original cast as well.

Season 10: The JLA from the future rescues Oliver as the Green Arrow. And uses the time travel ring not only to save Clark, but also goes back in time to save Jimmy Olsen correcting the time line.
or...
We find out that the last 9 years was an alternate deminsion. The real Superman was summoned to help Clark get his act together. In the comics it was called Earth 1 and Earth 2 (The Flash knows), which explains the existance of Kloe in Smallville and why Lana didn't have red hair. Or why Lana from the movie Superman III is now Clark's mom.

One last thought...how come the computer voice of Jor-El differs from his clone???? Somebody slipped up.

Hopefully they will have Michael Rosenbaum come back as Lex Luthor for the final season...at least a few episodes. It's important to show that he is indeed Superman's arch enemy

SO sorry to here that Chloe will be leaving, it is so nice and refreshing to see a dainty little woman playing such an important and strong role. This show is just brimming with really beautiful people (male and female). I will miss her.

I find it hard to believe that Allison Mack was created solely for the "Smallville" television series. Is that what her parents say?

I'm glad.she has become a whiny, know it all bitch. she has made it sound like her "computer work" is way more important than Clark & Oliver. good riddance.

This is not such a terrible thing. The character has been stagnant all season and the Oliver romance was forced at best. Let the character go out on top, possible in a showdown with Lex Luthor because we all know he isn't dead.
